Book Review: “With bold page design, short sentences, and high-interest topics, the World of Robots series (6 titles) is useful for emerging readers who still need a little bit of a visual assist. This entry is all about robots whose designs are based on animals. Chapters describe different kinds of robots, the animals they are modeled on, and what they are used for. Sentences are brief and clear, though the page design, which includes vocabulary definitions and additional fact bubbles, can be busy, and less confident readers may be overwhelmed. Maps and diagrams, when they appear, are clearly labeled, and the back matter collects vocab terms in a glossary and directs readers to additional resources. There’s a lot going on here, but interested readers will still find plenty to appreciate.”
