Book Review: This entry in Los gatos salvajes series (8 titles in Spanish) brings to life gatos monteses, or bobcats, teaching young scientists the physical features that set these wild cats apart, including their short tails, stripes, and spots. Readers will see large and small bobcats in action, as well as where they live and what they eat, through large, crisp photography that often takes up the majority of double-page spreads and corresponds with the information on the page. The simple, straightforward text is set apart in rectangular orange boxes, and readers will enjoy taking part in the search-and-find activity introduced at the beginning of the book, which asks them to identify different parts of a bobcat’s body as they make their way through. A nice addition to Spanish nonfiction collections.
