Possessions and Exorcisms

The idea that demons can possess a person's body and soul exists in cultures and religions around the globe, and has done so since well before the beginning of recorded history. The symptoms of possession are terrifying and bizarre. Over the centuries, therefore, all of these belief systems have created rituals designed to exorcise evil spirits and relieve victims from the torments they suffer.
